The attached picture is of Faheem Issa, the newly appointed Assistant Minister of Defense in the Northern Region Transitional Government.
– Issa has been accused by law-supporting news reports and media platforms (formerly Al-Julani) about a year ago of sending his fighters to Libya and Nigeria as mercenaries (photo attached). Even Issa himself is said to have been injured in Libya, specifically in Misrata in 2020 (he was fighting alongside Al-Wafaq government).
– The banner in the attached photo reads “Golani walak ma bdna yak you and Basharalelemak”, the photo was taken in mid-March, 2024 in the city of Ra’i (Turkman majority) in Aleppo Governorate.
– Fahim Issa was the commander of “Sultan Murad Squad”, and the second brigade in the opposition national army “previously”.
– Isolated from his leadership of Sultan Murad Band, Faheem Issa held three positions in the formations and alliances he engaged in during 2021 and 2022, when he held the position of Deputy Commander of the Unified Command Room (Determination), which was formed in July 2021 by the Shamia Front and Sultan Murad Band.
– Following the differences that hit “Azm”, and after its spark has dimmed, Faheem Issa surrendered the leadership of the “Thairoun Liberation Authority”, which was formed on 23 January 2022, through the merger of the “Tharoun Movement” and the “Syrian Liberation Front”, which is also a mixture of factions split from “Azm”.
– Soon there were differences within the “rebels”, especially between its commander Faheem Issa and his deputy “Saif Bolad Abu Bakr” (leader of Hamza Squad), who was also previously appointed as a commander in the new Syrian army (blue bead of the new army), which led to its disappearance as well, for Faheem Essa to surrender after leading the second legion in the National Army.
